Pebble
Case Study No. 1
What endures inside a room built for war? No trophy. Just stone.
LEIGH, by Casey Leigh Miller, is a collection of custom furniture and found objects presented in the Trophy Room at the Park Avenue Armory. The work draws from two states of the pebble: submerged under water, with ripples moving over static stone, and resting in dry sand, where wind creates lines and impressions around shapes that do not move.
Two daybeds and a table evoke stones in a stream. Arranged among them: blown glass, driftwood, abalone, shell. Objects that hold time. A quiet counterpoint to the room's vitrines of war trophies, reframing the space through material and narrative.
Two speeds existing in relation to one another.
